Helsinki Card
Discover Helsinki on a budget – with the official Helsinki Card. All the top attractions, public transport and discounts in one pass.
From €62 / person

The Helsinki Card comes in two convenient versions - the standard Helsinki Card for relaxed city exploring and the Helsinki Card REGION including the airport bus - each available flexibly for 24, 48 or 72 hours depending on your travel plans.
Visit the Tiqets website and select the Helsinki Card you want (usually the Helsinki Card CITY) with 24, 48 or 72 hours of validity.
Add the right card package to your basket and complete the purchase online. You pay the corresponding price and immediately receive a booking confirmation from Tiqets.
After your purchase you will receive a voucher (order confirmation) by email. This voucher can be printed out or shown digitally and confirms your purchase of the Helsinki Card via Tiqets.
Important: Keep this voucher safe, as you will need it in Helsinki to pick up your physical Helsinki Card.
On site in Helsinki you can now exchange your Tiqets voucher for the actual Helsinki Card (plastic card). Take your printed or digital voucher to an official collection point of the Helsinki Card.
The voucher exchange points include:
Note: Check the opening hours of your chosen collection point in advance, as they may vary.
As soon as you use the Helsinki Card you received for the first time, it is activated and the validity period of 24, 48 or 72 hours starts to run.
For attractions: Show your Helsinki Card at participating attractions or scan it at the entrance to get free admission - you don't need to buy a separate ticket.
For public transport: When boarding a bus, tram or metro, hold the card against the blue HSL card reader, just like a regular ticket. With the Helsinki Card CITY you can travel unlimited within zones AB in Helsinki, and with the Helsinki Card REGION even in zones ABC (incl. trips to/from the airport).
FAQ
The Helsinki Card gives you free admission to more than 30 of Helsinki's most popular sights and museums. On top of that, free sightseeing tours are included, such as panoramic city bus tours (winter) and the hop-on/hop-off bus (summer) as well as boat cruises.
You also get various discounts in restaurants, shops and on activities. With the Helsinki Card CITY and REGION you can also use public transport without limits (CITY: zones AB, REGION: zones ABC including the airport).
Note: The digital Helsinki Card (app-only version) does not include any public transport services.
The Helsinki Card is valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours, depending on the version you choose. The pass is only activated the first time you use it – whether you show it at an attraction first or use it on public transport.
From the first use, the time runs in exact hours: a 48-hour pass activated on Wednesday at 2:00 pm, for example, is valid until Friday at 2:00 pm. The validity covers consecutive hours – it cannot be paused.
Each attraction included in the Helsinki Card pass can be visited once for free. After that, no further free admission to the same place is possible with the pass.
The hop-on/hop-off bus tour and other included cruises can be used as often as you like throughout the pass's validity period. Discounts can be claimed again on every visit.
With the Helsinki Card CITY or REGION you can use all forms of public transport in Helsinki without limits: buses, trams, the metro, commuter/local trains and the Suomenlinna ferry to the sea fortress.
The CITY version covers inner-city public transport (zones AB), while the REGION version also includes the surrounding area (zones ABC, including trips to/from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport).
Important note: The digital Helsinki Card does not include public transport.
Yes! Throughout its validity period, the Helsinki Card CITY/REGION acts as a valid ticket in Helsinki's HSL public transport system.
When boarding a bus, tram or train, simply hold the card against the card reader until a beep and a green light confirm that the ticket has been registered. No additional ticket is needed within the covered zones.
No. The Helsinki Card does not offer general fast-track or skip-the-line benefits. You queue at sights as normal and then show your card at the till or entrance check.
Children's passes are offered at a reduced price. A child is defined as being 7 to 16 years old – for this age group there is a discounted Helsinki Card (City or Region).
Children under 7 generally do not need a Helsinki Card: they get free or heavily reduced admission at most attractions anyway and travel for free on public transport (when accompanied by an adult).
When you buy online, you receive a confirmation email with a voucher as proof.
Physical Helsinki Cards: Use the voucher to pick up your card at official collection points, e.g. at the Excess Baggage Service in the arrivals area of Helsinki Airport or at tourist information offices in the city centre.
Digital Helsinki Card: You receive the pass as a QR code by email, which you can print out or show on your smartphone – there is no need to collect anything on site.
Unused Helsinki Cards can generally be cancelled – but only within a certain period and provided they have not yet been activated or collected. There is a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase (for online orders sometimes even up to 90 days after purchase).
Important: Once the Helsinki Card has been activated or handed over, no refund is possible. When buying through ticket platforms such as Tiqets, city passes are often excluded from refunds.
If a Helsinki Card is lost or stolen, there is unfortunately no right to a replacement. Lost or stolen cards can neither be replaced nor refunded.
So treat your pass carefully, like cash. If you lose an as yet unused (non-activated) physical card, you should contact the provider immediately, but even then a refund is not guaranteed.
The Helsinki Card is personal and may only be used by the person it was issued to. Passing it on or sharing a pass is not permitted.
According to the terms of use, the card is non-transferable (without the express written permission of the issuer). Each traveller therefore needs their own Helsinki Card.
